TL;DR:

  • The cost of each task depends on the model you use

  • Most tasks will cost about $0.01 (1 cent) when running on the "Small" model, and $0.10 when running on the "Large" model (which is the recommended model for most tasks)

What is a credit?

Credits are the currency Lindy uses for billing. The number of credits Lindy uses depends on the following factors:

  1. Task length and complexity: For example, tasks that process hundreds of rows of spreadsheet data are more complex and will require more credits than updating one spreadsheet row.

  2. Premium actions: We offer premium actions that incur additional costs compared to standard actions due to the vendors we use. These actions include:

    1. People Data Labs (our lead generation vendor)

    2. Twilio

    3. Lindy Knowledge Base (our Pro plan has 5M included indexed characters in the Lindy Knowledge Base)

  3. Model: In each node, you can select which Language Model Lindy uses to reason and take action. We offer models from top providers. Each model has a tradeoff between intelligence, speed, and price (the most intelligent models are slower and more expensive).

See the dedicated help page for detailed credit prices per model.

What counts as a task?

A task is defined as everything Lindy does after being triggered by an event or a user’s message.

Each task consumes at least 1 credit, with more complex tasks using more credits based on their length, complexity, the model used, and whether any premium actions are involved.

What is a thread?

A thread is a continuous sequence of related tasks. For example:

  • A complete automation run (which may include multiple tasks)

  • A conversation session (which may include multiple messages or responses)

A single thread can contain multiple tasks, each with varying credit costs.

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan includes:

  • 400 credits a month

  • Knowledge base: 1M characters for free

Free plan users do not have access to:

  • Premium actions, such as lead prospecting or enrichment, meeting joining, Twilio SMS, or webhooks.

  • Extra Knowledge base characters after 1M

What happens once I run out of credits?

Once you run out of credits, Lindy will pause its operations and prompt you to upgrade to a paid plan. You will not be able to initiate new tasks or complete ongoing threads until your account has sufficient credits.

We provide email notifications to alert you when your credit balance is low to help you manage your usage and avoid interruptions.

Can I cancel or change my plan later?

Yes, you can cancel or change your plan at any time. To manage your subscription, click your profile picture on the top left, click Settings, then enter the Billing section.
