Guide to Getting Started with Lindy Medical Scribe
Please start by watching our YouTube tutorial on how to record, transcribe, and document your patient visits using Lindy.
Step-by-Step Instructions on How to Chart with Lindy:
1. Access your templates on the left sidebar.
2. Ensure you are click the template of your choice (Medical Scribe, Chiropractor, Veterinarian, Psychiatry, etc)
3. Select "New Visit"
4. Start recording by pressing the "Start Recording" button
You may also press the microphone button in the bottom text field
PRO TIP: Start the recording by dictating (or typing) the patient's name, critical patient information, and the type of visit (follow up, intake, consult)
5. Press End Recording, or hit the microphone in the chatbar to stop the recording.
OPTIONAL: Type any further patient information by text into the text bar before sending the transcript.
6. Send the transcript to Lindy by hitting ENTER on your keyboard, or the blue "Send" icon beside the microphone.
7. Watch Lindy generate an instant patient note! โจ
8. Copy The Note and Paste To Your EMR:
Press the COPY button to copy the patient note and update your EMR.
Note โ you can copy each section of the note (Subjective, Objective, etc) by hovering over the Header and clicking the COPY button to the left of the Header.
To copy the entire note, press the COPY button at the bottom of the note.
9. Making Quick Edits:
You can ask Lindy via the chat if you want the note re-done by saying, "Regenerate the note" and sending this message to her.
If you want to change the level of detail of your note, you can ask Lindy to re-do the note but make it shorter or longer (you can even request for it to be structured differently or for her to add more info)
10. Optional: Rename or Delete your note.
Click the three dots in the top right corner of your patient note to rename it.
You can also right-click the note in your sidebar and select "Rename"
From here, you also have the option to delete the note / transcript permanently.
This can not be undone.

How to Customize The Format of Your Patient Notes:
1. Duplicate:
First, duplicate the template you would like to customize.
To do this, access your templates in the Left Side Bar.
Right-click the Template and select 'Duplicate' to make a copy.
2. Navigate To The Flow Editor:
In the top right beside the blue Share button, click the Edit button to open the Flow Editor.
The Flow Editor is where you unlock the magic of Lindy's customization features!
3. Click the Settings of your Template.
4. Give Your New Template a Name:
Provide a name for your scribe, making it easy to identify.
4. Review and Edit the Scribe's Context:
You will see a section called Context.
The context contains a set of instructions that your medical scribe uses to structure your patient notes.
Now that you have made a copy, you can edit them to suit your charting preferences! Let's get started ๐

After reviewing, you may delete, edit, or add instructions in the Context field.
You can edit as much or as little as you prefer to achieve your desired patient note format.
Specify sections of your patient note that you want to copy and paste by beginning the section with:
# for the Main Header
## for Header 2
### for Header 3
To help emphasize important aspects of your instructions, you can use asterisks (*) around text which signifies they are BOLDED.
5. Insert Specific Instructions for Your Scribe:
Make sure to clearly instruct your medical scribe exactly how you want the patient note returned.

6. Save Your Template:
Once you've customized your template, click "Save." The new template will be saved into your sidebar.

1. Start your note by dictating OR typing the patient's name, age, and/or important context before starting the recording.
This helps set Lindy up for success before processing the transcript and clearly defines speaker names.
2. If recording a virtual visit or Telehealth visit, have Lindy open on a separate browser.
For example, if using Google Chrome for the call, use Safari to record with Lindy. Alternatively, use a mobile device and the Lindy app for recording.๏ปฟ
3. You can quickly ask questions or request edits to your note after it has been generated.
Simply type into the text field, "Include the patient history of chronic migraines in the note and add pertinent negatives to the ROS."
